DCFC Blog: No new faces in the Loan Market
07/10/2011 16:28The Loan market has been open for some time now and The rams still have not made a move to bring any new faces in.
Derby County to bide time in loan market - https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15156850.stm
The Board knew the squad was light, especially of a central midfielder and a striker, a lot of fans wanted Steve howard in on loan but that's never happened likewise with Matt Oakley (who has since joined exeter on loan). Both those moves were dismissed by Leicester after BBC Derby reported them. There was 10 new faces in the summer but yet still I believe the squad is a bit light. In the middle of the park we lost James Bailey to injury and Paul Green to a long term injury , but Jeff hendrick has done an excellent job there alongside Scottsman Craig Bryson who has also done well. Up front there is a lot of competetion for places but there it seems we lack a good goalscorer at this level. Steve Davies has scored a few goals this season but dosn't look like a 10-15 goal a season man. Derby also lost out on England U21 international target Martyn Waghorn (joined Hull on loan) and in the last few days Derby was linked with Leeds youngster Aiden white but this was dismissed by Aiden White wanting to fight for his place in the team.
The Rams are still carrying high earners in the squad that are clearly not in Clough's plans. Stephen Bywater has joined sheff wednesday on loan but Derby will still pay a percentage of his wages. Dean leacock is one who isn't part of the plans and hasn't moved on, he was rumoured to be joing Nottingham Forest in the summer. Stephen Pearson ,has made one appearance this season in The League Cup, hasn't moved out. Another is Saul Deeney, a Goalkeeper who has almost been forgotten is injured along with Pearson and Leacock. Left Winger Dave Martin is at Walsall on loan. Deeney, Bywater, leacock and Martin was not given squad numbers for this season.

Loan moves ? and previewing Rams V Millwall
23/09/2011 17:20This week Rams goalkeeper Stephen Bywater moved on a three month loan to league 1 side Sheffield Wednesday. He is out of the first team at Pride Park and in the final year of his contract.
There have been plently of rumours about Leicester's Matt Oakley rejoining Derby on loan but then Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson said he hadn't heard anything about the move. The Daily Mirror then reported that Nigel clough wanted Oakley but Derby's financial backers wouldn't finance his wages. The mirror have sicne reported that Exeter want him on loan too - https://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Leicester-midfielder-Matt-Oakley-is-a-target-for-Exeter-boss-and-old-Southampton-team-mate-Paul-Tisdale-article801922.html .
SATURDAY'S GAME-
Derby County are set to give summer signing Adam Legzdins his home debut on Saturday as Frank Fielding is suspended for the game following his red card from last week. Academy goalkeeper Mats Morch may be called upon to be Derby's sub goalkeeper.
Kevin Kilbane is a doubt after missing last week's game with Forest. Chris Riggott is back in training but isn't match fit for the game.
Former Lion Theo Robinson is in line to start.
Millwall lost midweek in the Carling Cup to Premiership side Wolves 5-0. Former- Ram Jordan Stewart is now in the Millwall team.
MY PREDICTION -
Derby will still be buzzing after last weeks win so I'm going for 2-0 Derby.
Match Preview- Forest V Derby
16/09/2011 16:27Tommorow the Rams make the short trip to the City Ground to face local rivals Nottingham Forest.
RAMS TEAM NEWS
Nathan Tyson is in line to make the subsitutes bench after recovering from a groin injury. He could make his Rams debut against his Former Club. James Bailey is still out with an ankle injury. Nigel Clough may keep the same starting eleven as last week's defeat at Coventry however Robinson and Maguire are making a claim for starts after coming off the bench in recent weeks and impressing in Reserve's fixtures.
FOREST TEAM NEWS
Ex Ram Marcus Tudagay is a doubt for the game along with George Beoteng, Robert Findlay and Paul Anderson who are also doubts.
Dexter Blatstock and Gareth McClary are still out with long term injuries.
MY PREDICTION-
I think the game will be much tighter than last year's terrible Rams preformace at the City Ground. We can all dream about Tyson scoring a last minute winner, which would be great but firstly let's look at Derby and Forest's league standings -
5th-Derby 12 points -This seasons league games - won, won, won, won, lost, lost.
21st -Forest 5 points- This seasons league games - drew, lost, won, drew, lost, lost.
All form usally goes out the window in local derbys. Also a reminder the team's will also be playing for the Brian Clough Trophy.
My heart say's the Rams will win 2-1 but my head say's it will be a hard thought 1-1 draw with there being plently of local derby tackles flying in. Post your score prediction here - facebook.com/nathantyson.derbycounty.wehateforest

Great Win over Doncaster and Looking ahead to Burnley
22/08/2011 16:12After making it four wins from four I'm very confident Derby can beat Burnley.
There are injury concerns over Jamie Ward's fitness after he was subbed in the first half with a hamstring problem. The medical staff hope to have him fit.
Jason Shackell also picked up a minor injury but continued the game. Shackell's back stiffened up and had discomfort in his hamstring. He is expected to miss out training in the next few day's but should be fit for Saturday.
Looking ahead to the Burnley game the Players again will carry huge confidence into the game meanwhile Burnley are 21st in the league and have drew 2 and lost 1 and Burnley also have a midweek Carling Cup tie against Barnet. Eddie Howe's side drew 1-1 at the weekend against Cardiff at Turf Moor.
Prediction V Burnley - 2-1 to Derby. (B.Davies and Bryson goals)
After Saturday's game against Burnley at Pride Park the Championship will pause for two weeks for the international break. After the international break Derby will have two away games at Coventry (Saturday 10th Sept) and Nottingham Forest (Saturday 17th Sept).
Rams make History after winning first 3 league games
19/08/2011 20:05Not since 1948 had Derby County won their first three league games.
Putting the Carling Cup defeat a side Derby have preformed well and seen out games from a winning position this season which we didn't see too often last season. The next couple of games are certainly winnable home games against Doncastor and Burnley. Maybe two wins from those and Derby will find themselves positioned well leading into September for Coventry and Forest away and hopefully by this time we will have Shaun Barker back on the pitch.
It's very important to get a decent start to the season to carry confidence to the next games where the table start's to slightly shape up.
Last season Derby won on opening day at Leeds but failed to win until late September against Crystal Palace
A bit about new signing CHRIS MAGUIRE
30/06/2011 21:34Maguire is 22 years old and has been capped twice by the Scotland senior team making his international senior debut against Nothern Ireland with the Scot's winning the game 3-0.

He transfered to Derby for a fee believed to be around £400,000 after Derby and Aberdeen agreed a compensation package.
A Bit about Rams new signing Jason Shackell
22/06/2011 20:26Jason Shackell is a product of the Norwich academy and made his debut against Derby at Pride Park on the 5th of April 2003 where the rams won 2-1
He is 27 years old born on 27 September. He helpt Wolves gain promotion to the Premiership and has Premiership experience also with Norwich after winning promotion with the club.
He has signed a three-year contract at Pride Park after scoring 3 goals for Barnsley in his one season with the club playing every single game .
Addison out on loan ?
22/06/2011 18:26Miles Addison could spend the first half of the season on loan somewhere, thought to be Barnsley.Miles Addison signed a new derby contract keeping him here until the summer of 2013. The loan move could could help with Addison's fitness as he has endured long term injuries.
