Nottingham Forest 1-2 Derby County
10 men Derby County beat Rivals Nottingham Forest for the first time since January 2010.
After just over 60 seconds Forest's Ishmael Miller was brought down by Goalkeeper Frank Fielding in the penalty area. The Referee pointed to the spot and sent off Fielding. Tomasz Cywaka was subbed for Goalkeeper Adam Legzdins making his debut. Unfortanatly he couldn't prevent Andy Reid's penalty from hitting the back of the net. Frank Fielding should not of been sent off but it was definatley a penalty but not worthy of a red card.
Jamie Ward equalised after around 30 minutes by running through the Forest defence and scoring at the near post against fellow Northern-Irish International Lee Camp. However the goal wasn't without it's controversy, Forest full back Chris Cohen was down injured and Forest fans thought the Derby players should kick it out of play in order for the injured player to be treated but the Rams continued to play on and scored. The Referee had a clear view of the player's injury and didn't stop play as he must of thought it was necessary for play to continue.
Later on, just after the hour Ben Davies delivered a superb cross finding Jeff Hendrick at the back post only for the young Irishmen to head it the wrong side of the post. He should of scored.
Nathan tyson was booed onto the pitch by Forest fans to make his debut replacing Goalscorer Jamie Ward.
Jeff Hendrick redeemed his earlier miss by scoring a wonder strike from the edge of the box to make it 2-1 and score his first senior goal.
That goal turned out to be the winner after some late Forest pressure. The Rams had done it !!! There was excellent team spirit after being reduced to 10 men after just one minute. This win also meant Derby had won back the Brian Clough Trophy.
