Port Vale Reserves 1-3 Derby County Reserves

Derby's reserves began the Central League Division title defence with a 3-1 win at Port Vale.

In the last two seasons the Rams reserves have won the title and begun the new season with a 3-1 win with goals coming from Theo Robinson, Chris Maguire and Callum Ball. Jake Buxton made his return from injury while first team fringe players Cywaka, Maguire, Roberts and Robinson all started.
