Pride Park

Pride Park is the sixteenth largest capacity of any football stadium in the UK and one hundred and twenty first largest in Europe.

The stadium was opened by the Queen in 1997.

Each Derby County game at Pride Park you can always expect an excellent attendence, one of the best in the Football League even better than a number of Premier League clubs.

The first ever game at Pride Park was a Pre-Season friendly defeat for Derby County against Italian side Sampdoria, where Vincenzo Montella scored the only goal of the game in front of around 29,000 fans.

Statues at the stadium are the Clough-Taylor statue outside Pride Park and the Steve Bloomer statue beside the home dugout. There is also the Lionel Pickering entrance named after Lionel Pickering.

Pride Park has hosted 2 full international games. The first one was Englands 4-0 defeat of Mexico including a stunning David Beckham free kick in the 2001 friendly.The second came in 2010 when International superstars Brazil played Ukraine, the game finished 2-0 to the Brazilians.
